How do I register my runner to race?
We will use this Google sheets form to mark runner availability and sign up for events. Please refer to the meets page for more details.
How many events can my athlete compete in?
Athletes can total no more than three individual competitions (2 races/1 field event or 2 field events/1 race) and two relays.
So for example, an athlete can compete in the 4x100 relay, the 400m, the 1600m, the long jump and the 4x400 relay.
How do I sign up to carpool, volunteer or to bring snacks?
You will receive an invitation to use SignUp Genius. Send a note to Coach Sims at fredsims@berkeley.net if you need access. Please refer to the meets page for more details.
What time do track meets start and end?
Competitions start at 4 p.m. and are usually done sometime between 7 and 8 p.m.
When does my track and field athlete compete?
Races proceed in a rolling order and we do not have exact start times. Field events are held through the meet.
What is the order of events?
4x100m Relay
400m
800m
100m
1600m
200m
4x400 Relay
Do we have to stay for the entire meet?
Families are encouraged to stay and cheer for the entire team, but we understand that schedules are busy. If you are a carpool driver, make sure your runner has a return ride if you need to leave early.
What if I can drive there, but not back?
Make sure you note this detail when you sign up to drive.
I can't carpool, but can I pick up my runner from the meet?
Absolutely. Please note this detail as well when you sign up to drive.
Also make sure you check in with one of the coaches or the parent that drove your runner before you leave. We don't want to leave any athletes stranded.
